Persona 3 Portable (PSP)

Persona 3 seems to be considered a true Japanese RPG classic in many circles, and after playing this one I can see why.  Atlus did a great job with the UI for the PSP, and even though the "dungeon" sequences in this game are a grind, that's a good thing for portable gaming in my opinion.

Skyrim (PS3)

Another fine single player RPG from Bethesda.  Far fewer bugs than I had with Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas.

REAMDE (Book)

Neal Stephenson's latest -- feels closer to Cobweb or his early works than his most recent, which is fine -- it's an amusing international thriller...

Bill James's "You'd Better Believe It" (Book)

Not a regular genre for me -- gritty cop thriller.  Very well done, and there are a _lot_ of books in the series to keep me busy...

Dark Souls (PS3)

Great combat mechanics and better balanced than the earlier Demon's Souls.
